How about clogged waste?

Nowadays, almost everyone is familiar with clogged waste. We can meet him in the toilet, in the bathroom or even in the kitchen. Manifestations are often very similar. It is mainly a slow drain of water and a noticeable smell. But how to properly clean the waste even without a plumber? At EkoBIT, several procedures have proven to be effective in dealing with this problem.

Beard, hair, grease from cosmetics, grease or food residue. All of this can lead to clogged waste in the home. The situation can also be complicated by limescale, deformed or even poorly designed pipes.

The first aid in such a situation is a rubber bell, which is often enough to solve the entire problem. Thanks to pumping, a negative pressure is created, which can loosen the pipes. And the procedure? It is the following. It is enough to pour a little water, plug the inlet with a wet cloth, remove the plug and attach the bell so that the air does not escape.

If the bell was not enough to solve the problem, try to disassemble the siphon. Place a bucket under it, unscrew the siphon and let the water drain. At that point, we definitely recommend checking the seals as well and manually removing any debris from the pipe.

If it's clear that the problem is where you can't reach anymore, try a plumber's waste pen. But it is often worthwhile to invite a helper for this. It is a rather complex process, during which the hand crank is turned in one direction and the assistant directs the spring itself to the blocked place that needs to be disturbed.

A plumber's pen can sometimes be replaced with a simple trick. Insert the garden hose as deep as possible into the waste pipe (the tighter the better). Plug the area around the hose with a cloth and run as much water as possible into it. If there is more sediment in the pipes, it can sometimes be pushed through this way.

Of course, various chemical preparations are also an option, such as sodium hydroxide or other means based on it. Just pour them into the waste, let them work and pour hot water over them.
