Cleaning the keyboard

Bacteria often like to collect on the keyboard, which is why it needs to be cleaned at least occasionally. There are a number of methods and instructions for this, which as EkoBIT we resort to during regular cleaning of offices throughout the Czech and Slovak Republics. We are currently cleaning the office spaces of many satisfied clients, for example in Brno, Bratislava or Prague, and keyboards are something we certainly never forget.

The first effective and efficient way to properly clean the keyboard is to blow it. A can of compressed air may be sufficient for this. But before that, you need to disconnect the keyboard from the computer or other electronic device. Keyboard shortcuts or accidentally pressed buttons can otherwise cause serious mischief.

Once your keyboard is disconnected, turn it upside down and give it a good blow with compressed air. Focus mainly on the space between the keys.

A simple cleaning agent and a cloth with which to wipe the individual keys are often sufficient for minor cleaning. Then use a cotton swab for the gaps between them.

A special brush, which can be purchased separately or in a cleaning set, is suitable for worse dirt. In many cases, however, even an ordinary toothbrush can work sufficiently, which costs many times less than a special keyboard brush. In addition, almost all of us already have toothbrushes at home, and they are also useful for cleaning other parts of the house apartment buildings, or even inoffices.
