Many households struggle with how to clean the kettle effectively and efficiently. This, like other appliances that use water, suffers from limescale build-up. The amount of such deposits depends to a large extent on the hardness of the water. However, there are a few tricks to easily remove pesky scale from your pressure cooker.

Lime scale is very dangerous for the life of the kettle. It reduces the efficiency of heating, poses a risk of possible overheating, various bacteria thrive much better in stone deposits. It is also unpleasant that pieces of limescale often wash out into the water and other drinks.

However, taking care of the kettle is not difficult at all. In this regard, we at EkoBIT can recommend a special procedure that will effectively help with this task. Only food-grade citric acid, drinking water, a spoon, vinegar and a sponge will work well for descaling the device, which will be used to clean the edges under the lid or the nozzle.

The procedure itself is very simple. Pour drinking water up to the line in the kettle and pour in a spoonful of citric acid. Then you turn on the kettle and let it boil. The solution itself should work in the kettle for between 30 and 60 minutes. Then you pour out the water and let clean water boil in it at least once more before using it again. With the help of vinegar and a sponge, you can then clean the remaining parts of the kettle.

However, if you already have very strong deposits in the kettle, after boiling, add one to two spoons of acid again and leave it to act overnight.
